Do you offer virtual/remote tax preparation?

Yes! All tax services are fully remote and secure. Once you sign your engagement letter, you’ll be able to upload your documents through your secure portal. From there, we get straight to work on your return. When it’s ready, you’ll schedule a quick review appointment to go over everything together, and once you approve it, we’ll file it for you.

What types of tax returns do you prepare?

For 2025, we are only accepting Individual Tax Return (Form 1040) clients. This includes simple W-2 returns, returns with dependents/credits, and Schedule C filers with AGI under $100,000. We are not accepting business entity returns (1065, 1120S, or 1120) this season. If you have a business return, feel free to reach out — we can add you to our waitlist for future availability.

How much do your tax prep services cost?

We believe in transparent pricing. Below are our starting rates, but every return is unique — you’ll receive an exact quote after we review your prescreening form.
Pricing depends on the type of return:
1040 (Single / No Dependents): Starting at $200
1040 (MFJ or HOH / With Dependents or Credits): Starting at $350
1040 + Schedule C (Self-Employed): Starting at $425

How do I get started?

You can start by completing our Prescreening Form, which helps us understand your situation and estimate your fee. After that, we’ll send instructions for uploading documents and completing your return.

What documents do I need to file my taxes?

Depending on your situation, documents may include:
W-2s
1099-NEC / 1099-K (for gig work or self-employment)
1098-T (education)
1098-E (student loan interest)
1098 mortgage interest
Dependent information

How long does it take to complete my tax return?

Timing depends on when you upload all of your supporting documents. Turnaround time is typically 1–2 weeks from the moment your engagement letter is signed to the moment your return is e-filed. But, it really depends on how quickly your documents are uploaded and how complex your return is.

Do you offer audit support or representation?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Acacia Tax provides support if the IRS contacts you regarding a return we prepared. Additional representation fees may apply. At this time, we only offer audit support and representation to our own tax clients and are not accepting outside cases.

How do I receive my refund?

Refunds can be deposited directly into your bank account or mailed via paper check. The IRS typically issues refunds within 21 days, but processing times may vary.

Right now, we are only accepting clients located in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. As we expand, additional states may be added — but for the 2025 season, our service areas are MA and NH only.

Yes. All of your documents and messages are handled through our secure client portal, powered by TaxSlayer. The portal uses strong encryption and industry-standard security to protect your personal information, similar to what banks use.
